Common questions

πŸ” Account & Data

Open the app β†’ Settings (from the Drawer Menu or Settings screen) β†’ Account Actions β†’ Delete Account & Data. This permanently deletes your account and all associated journal entries, conversations, mood logs, and memories within 30 days. You can also email info@lintio.org to request manual deletion.
Yes. Open the Drawer Menu (swipe right or tap the menu icon) β†’ Export My Data. This generates a JSON file with all your journal entries, mood logs, memories, and goals, which you can share or save using your device's Share Sheet. You can also find this in Settings β†’ Data β†’ Export My Data.
In Guest Mode, all your data is stored only on your device β€” nothing is sent to our servers. If you uninstall the app or clear app data, your guest data is permanently lost. We recommend creating a free account to back up your data to the cloud.
On the Sign In screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. We'll send you a password reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
Yes, if you have a registered account. Sign in with the same email and password on each device. Your journal entries, conversations, mood logs, and memories will sync via the cloud. Guest Mode is device-local only.

πŸ€– The AI Companion

No. choobi's AI companion is a conversational reflection tool β€” not a licensed therapist, psychologist, or medical professional. It cannot diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide clinical advice. For mental health care, please consult a qualified professional.
No. We use OpenAI's API, and by default OpenAI does not use API inputs or outputs to train their models. Your conversations are not used for model training. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
Yes! choobi comes with four companion personalities β€” choobi, Ren, Sorae, and Aira β€” plus optional perspective modes (Spiritual, Faith-Based, LGBTQ+ Affirming, Relationship Guidance). Access these from Settings β†’ Companion, or from the chat header by tapping the companion's name.
We take safety seriously. If the AI ever responds in a way that feels wrong, harmful, or unsafe, please email us at info@lintio.org with as much detail as possible. We review all safety reports and will address the issue promptly.

πŸ“± App & Technical

Try these steps: (1) Close and reopen the app. (2) Check your internet connection. (3) Update to the latest version of choobi from the App Store or Google Play. (4) Restart your device. If the problem persists, email info@lintio.org with your device model and OS version.
Open the Drawer Menu β†’ Notifications, or Settings β†’ Notifications. You can turn specific notification types on or off. You can also manage notification permissions from your device's Settings app under choobi.
Location permission is entirely optional. If granted, choobi fetches local weather data from a public weather API (Open-Meteo) to personalise your home screen with weather-based mood tips. Your precise location is never stored on our servers.
Yes. choobi is available for iOS (iPhone and iPad) via the App Store, and for Android via Google Play.
Not currently. choobi is available as a mobile app for iOS and Android only. A web version may be considered in the future.

πŸ“” Features

The journal editor supports rich formatting: headings (H1/H2), bullet lists, checkboxes, quotes, bold, italic, underline, multiple font families, text colours, and paper backgrounds. You can also add stickers and background photos. Tap the format bar above the keyboard to access all options.
After a conversation with choobi in the chat, tap "Extract" in the Journal screen to automatically generate a journal entry summarising key themes and reflections from your conversation. This requires an active internet connection.
Ground Me provides a set of calming exercises for anxious or overwhelmed moments: guided breathing, a 5-4-3-2-1 sensory focus exercise, gentle movement, and distraction games (word puzzles, bubble-popping). Access it from the home screen quick-action card or the More tab.
